Service launches of the Beaumaris lifeboat covering the Menai Strait between Anglesey and the North Wales mainland
June 19th 12:09 Beaumaris Pier
Beaumaris RNLI were called out to assist a fishing boat with engine failure off Beaumaris Pier and towed both the boat and crew back to Menai Bridge.
June 14th 12:11 Off Puffin Island
Beaumaris RNLI Lifeboat was called out today at 12.11 to respond to an incident involving a capsized canoeist off Puffin Island. On arrival at the scene, the lifeboat crew found two people unharmed in the water. The canoeists were brought aboard the lifeboat along with their canoe and were dropped off at Llanfairfechan.
June 13th Gallows Point, Menai Strait
The lifeboat was launched in response to a report of an object floating in the water near Gallows Point, which was thought to be a person in distress. On arrival, it was found that the object was a bucket. The lifeboat was stood-down and returned to Beaumaris.
May 28th 1945 Bangor Pier, Menai Strait
A small boat was spotted drifting in the Menai Straits near Bangor Pier. The lifeboat was launched to investigate and the crew found 2 young teenagers in the boat with no oars or lifejackets. The boat and the two youngsters were taken ashore.
May 20th 2011 Port Dinorwic
A yacht with 2 persons on board was attempting to pick up a mooring buoy close to Port Dinorwic but due to the strong current and occasional heavy downpours, the crew were unable to moor safely. The crew called Holyhead Coastguard for assistance and dropped an anchor. The Beaumaris lifeboat came alongside the yacht and the crew rendered assistance. The yacht was escorted into Port Dinorwic and was moored in the harbour.
May 1st #21 Near Plas Menai
The Lifeboat was called to assist 2 jet skies drifting in the Strait near Plas Menai. On arrival on scene the casualties had made their own way ashore in safety.
April 30th The Swellies
A Kayak was seen drifting through the Swellies with nobody with it. The Lifeboat launched to recover the boat and search the area for anybody in the water. Nobody was found and the kayak was brought back to the boathouse. The owner foundashore, the boat had broken away from its mooring without the owner knowing.
