Holyhead Coastguard received a report that a 38' commercial RIB had suffered catastrophic engine failure with 10 persons on board. The vessel was asked to deply its anchor and the Beaumaris Lifeboat was launched. It proceeded to the scene, took the vessel in tow and towed it in to Caernarfon, The tide was ebbing at the time and progress was slow so the vessel was left alongside at Caernarfon to await a commercial tow. The Lifeboat returned to station.The new Atlantic 85 performed well for this call out.
