The volunteer crew of Beaumaris Lifeboat Station had four call outs Saturday 9 October in Force 8 conditions. The first incident was at 9.00am to two fishermen whose 16ft speed boat had been hit by another vessel. The two fishermen were taken off their boat and transferred to shore by the lifeboat where they were met by an ambulance and taken to hospital. The crew recovered the fishermen’s boat and towed to the slipway.

Due to the sea conditions at Beaumaris, the lifeboat was recovered at Gallows Point and rehoused in the boathouse, but then relaunched at 11.50am in response to a May Day from an 38ft yacht in difficulty. Two of the lifeboat crew boarded the yacht to assist and the yacht was towed into Port Penrhyn Dock.

The lifeboat returned to Gallows Point and was recovered and in the trailer when a May Day off Menai Bridge Pier was received. The lifeboat was launched to assist a 5m RIB on its mooring which was taking in water. The passenger on board was picked by another craft.

The lifeboat returned to Gallows Point, recovered and back in Beaumaris when it was relaunched to search for a missing windsurfer a mile NW off Conwy Fairway. The crew undertook a sector search but then informed the windsurfer was on the beach in Conwy. On their return to the boathouse, the lifeboat crew located a windsurfing board off Puffin Island which they retrieved and took back to the boathouse.
