October 29th 3pm No 79 Menai Strait

The coastguard asked the Beaumaris Lifeboat to launch and search for an upturned rib that had been sighted drifting along the Menai Strait in very bad weather. It was not certain if the vessel contained people. The boat was launched and in collaboration with the Coastguard and the RAF helicopter the rib was located and beached. No people were found in the water and the search was called off when it was clear that the boat had broken away from its mooring.
