October 19th 23:30 Menai Bridge

The lifeboat launched to a person in distress on the Menai Bridge. The lifeboat was recalled when the Police brought the person into custody.

October 9th 18:37 Menai Bridge

A broken down speedboat near Puffin was given assistance by another vessel, the lifeboat launched and took over to tow the vessel with 2 persons on board to Menai Bridge

October 7th 2:45 Dinas Dinlle

The coastguard received a report of 3 persons in the water clinging to an upside down rib. On arriving at the scene the lifeboat located the persons ashore and the upside down rib had washed ashore. The persons were given assistance by the coastguard, and the lifeboat returned to station. 

October 3rd 4:02pm Menai Strait

A member of the public spotted a small tender with 2 persons on board in difficulty in the Menai Strait near Gallows point. In a sudden squall with reduced visibility and torrential rain the  Beaumaris lifeboat was launched. After a quick search the casualties were located on the shore at Penrhyn Dock where they had just arrived. 2 lifeboat crew were put ashore to check they were ok and then the lifeboat returned to station.

September 20th 17:15 Menai Bridge

Beaumaris lifeboat was launched to render assistance to a female on Menai Bridge who was thought to be in distress.  The person was helped to safety be the Police and the lifeboat returned to the station.

September 8th 8:35am Puffin Island (cancelled)

Holyhead coastguard paged the lifeboat crew to launch for a broken down motor vessel at Puffin Island. The crew of the vessel reported they had made their way safely and so the launch was cancelled.

September 8th 2:39am Caernarfon Victoria Dock

North Wales police requested the lifeboat assist with a male person drinking heavily in Victoria Dock. The lifeboat launched and got as far as Plas Newydd, the crew were informed that the police now had the situation under control and so the lifeboat returned to station.

September 3rd 13:58 Penmon

Lifeboat was launched to recover a person from a kayak who had capsized near Trywyn Penmon. The casualty was taken on board the lifeboat and brought back to Beaumaris Lifeboat Station where an ambulance was waiting.

September 2nd 16:30 Menai Strait

The lifeboat was launched to a broken down motor vessel with two persons on board opposite Beaumaris pier.  One crew member boarded the vessel to secure a towline, and the lifeboat then towed the vessel to the Porth Daniel slipway in Menai Bridge.

August 28th 20:30 Menai Strait

Holyhead Coastguard received a 999 call reporting a red flare sighted across from Beaumaris towards the mainland. Beaumaris Lifeboat were asked to investigate. After a search, it was determined that the flare had been fired from the shoreline and the lifeboat returned to station.
During the incident, the lifeboat was targeted by a high powered laser which caused the crew some discomfort. The Police are investigating.

August 19th 8:45pm Penmon Point

The lifeboat was launched to rescue 3 persons who were cut off by a rising tide at Penmon Point. The lifeboat took the persons on board and transferred them safely to the shore.

The lifeboat was then requested to respond to a second rescue close to Penmon Bay. A RIB had suffered a mechanical failure in Penmon Bay. The casualty vessel was towed back to Gallows Point and safely recovered.

August 16th 6:45 pm The Swellies, Menai Strait

Holyhead Coastguard received a call for a yacht aground on Platters rock in the Swellies. The Beaumaris lifeboat launched to the vessel which had 2 persons on board, and towed the yacht to a deep water mooring in Menai Bridge.

August 8th 23:02 Friars Bay, Menai Strait

The Beaumaris Lifeboat was called to assist a small fishing boat lost in the fog in Friars bay. The crew located the vessel inshore on the Anglesey side of the channel and then escorted to fishermen to Beaumaris for recovery onto their trailer.

August 7th 23:24 Victoria Dock

The Beaumaris Lifeboat was called to Victoria dock to the aid of a despondent person, as it was thought he was likely to enter the water. Two crew members aided the Coastguard and Police to ensure his safety. The Lifeboat stood off due the low water and crew members stood by on the wall to provide additional cover until the person's safety was assured.

July 28th 11:40 Bangor Pier

Holyhead Coastguard reported that a cabin cruiser had been seen drifting down the Menai Strait, possibly with no-one on board, near Bangor Pier.  Beaumaris Lifeboat was launched to render assistance and the vessel was taken under tow to Menai Bridge. 

July 24th 12:43 The Gazelle

The lifeboat was called to a large rib with 8 persons on board. The rib had cast off from a mooring near the Gazelle and the engine had failed. One of  the passengers phoned 999, the rib drifted onto a beach the other side of the Gazelle. The lifeboat took the rib and skipper back to their mooring.

June 17th 15:20 Puffin Island

The Lifeboat attended a Three Peaks Race yacht that had run aground on the way to Puffin Island at approximately 1520. After assessing there was no risk to life, an attempt was made to refloat the craft, but is was too hard aground. The lifeboat then returned to station and the yacht refloated later that day.

June 11th 01:35am Menai Bridge

The volunteer crew of Beaumaris RNLI were called out this morning at 01:35 in response to a report that voices were heard on the water around the Islands off Menai Bridge by Cadnant.  The Lifeboat was launched and the crew conducted a search of the area but were unable to find the source of the voices until the heard shouting from the Bangor side of the Menai Strait.  The crew proceeded to the area, a beach near the Rowing Club, and found an injured man approx age of early to mid 30s.  The crew brought the man on board the lifeboat and took him to Menai Bridge Pier where an ambulance along with the Police and Bangor Coastguard were waiting and the man was taken by ambulance to hospital.

June 2nd near Britannia Bridge

The Beaumaris lifeboat was launched for the second time on 2 June to render assistance to a motorboat which had suffered mechanical failure near Britannia Bridge.  The vessel was taken under tow to Menai Bridge.

June 2nd 11:49 Menai Strait, near Anglesey Sea Zoo

Beaumaris RNLI was called out at 11.49 this morning to respond to a 5m speedboat which had run aground in the Menai Strait off Anglesey Sea Zoo.  Two passengers were on board the speedboat who were taken off the boat by the volunteer lifeboat crew and put ashore at Felinheli.  The passengers intend to go back to their speedboat at approx 8.00pm tonight when the tide has turned to bring their boat ashore. 

May 12th 21:30pm The Gazelle

Beaumaris RNLI was called out last night at 22.05 in response to a 999 call from a crew member of a yacht moored off the Glyn Garth flats.
The crew member who raised the alarm had been brought ashore at the Gazelle Jetty by tender. The tender then returned to the yacht but the outboard engine failed and the crew member at the Gazelle was concerned that the dinghy was being washed away in the Beaumaris direction.
Beaumaris Lifeboat was launched and found that the tender had returned to the yacht. The RNLI crew checked all the yacht’s crew were accounted for and took the three crew ashore to the Gazelle before proceeding back to the Lifeboat Station.

May 8th 00:15 Mussel Bank

Beaumaris Lifeboat was called out last night at 00.15 by the HM Coastguard in response to a call received by mobile phone from a 28ft fishing boat that had engine failure.  The fishing boat with three men on board had left Caernarfon at 19.00 on Monday.    The crew of Beaumaris RNLI conducted a search of the waters off Caernarfon and were joined by a SAR Helicopter and Porth Dinllaen Lifeboat.  The fishing boat was located by the SAR Helicopter off a Mussel Bank near Newborough Beach.  Porth Dinllaen Lifeboat was stood down and Beaumaris Lifeboat proceeded to the Mussel Bank where one of the Lifeboat crew was put on board the fishing boat to assist the three men on to the lifeboat.  As one of the men had onset hypothermia and the other two were suffering with the cold and sea sickness, they were winched from the lifeboat on to the helicopter who then transferred them to hospital.      Antony Robinson, Beaumaris RNLI helm said;  “The weather conditions were such that it wasn’t suitable for us to tow the fishing boat so I asked HM Coastguard to retask Porth Dinllaen to assist with the tow.  Porth Dinllaen Lifeboat towed the fishing boat to the Menai Strait and we then took over and towed the boat into Slate Quay at Caernarfon.”   Beaumaris Lifeboat then proceeded back to the Beaumaris Lifeboat Station returning at 04.15.

April 29th Menai Strait down to Abermenai

Following a request from North Wales police via Holyhead Coastguard the Beaumaris lifeboat was launched to conduct a shoreline search for an 18 year old male, from Gallows Point to Abermenai on both sides of the Strait.  Weather NE F4

April 9th Meni Bridge

The Police received a phone call that a man in his 40's had been seen to jump from the Menai Suspension Bridge. The Beaumaris Lifeboat was launched and joined the police helicopter and Coastguards in the search. After short period we were informed thata man in his 40's had been detained by police for making a hoax call. The Lifeboat returned to station just before midnight. We were later informed that the man had been arrested, and this was the 8th time he has made similar hoax calls.

March 24th Menai Strait

A 14 ft motorboat had suffered engine failure near buoy C14 and had then run onto a sand-bank.The lifeboat was launched to render assistance and the motorboat was towed to safety.

March 19th Near Puffin Island

Holyhead Coastguard reported that a 28ft fin keelyacht had run aground near Puffin Island.  The lifeboat was launched to render assistance and once the yacht had refloated, escorted the yacht to Menai Bridge.
