May 12th 21:30pm The Gazelle

Beaumaris RNLI was called out last night at 22.05 in response to a 999 call from a crew member of a yacht moored off the Glyn Garth flats.
The crew member who raised the alarm had been brought ashore at the Gazelle Jetty by tender. The tender then returned to the yacht but the outboard engine failed and the crew member at the Gazelle was concerned that the dinghy was being washed away in the Beaumaris direction.
Beaumaris Lifeboat was launched and found that the tender had returned to the yacht. The RNLI crew checked all the yacht’s crew were accounted for and took the three crew ashore to the Gazelle before proceeding back to the Lifeboat Station.
